I have read all the Threads about FPS and Build games in Windows XP (I Have WinXP-Prof). I can run a game like Duke Nukem 3D perfect with 320 x 240 and SB 5/1/5 (Yes with that strange sound). When I use the VESA Fix of Ken Silverman in a batch file, I can play also perfect but then the only problem is still the sound. I've read many Threads about it and with VMDSound and SounFX 2000 I've got the same problem: When I start up the game it will hang by the first frame when it uses the SFX 🙁. With VMDSound running and in the setup the SFX at NONE the game runs good with music and a high resolution! With these 2 SFX-emus the game will hang by the first frame. I've every update installed and did the good things. I've read about CLI2NOP and I've downloaded it bu you'd said it wasn't for WinXP.

Can anyone help me with this prob? My English is a little bad because I am a 15 years old boy from The Netherlands my knowledge about Games and Computers is gigantic ...

So, can anyone of you guys help me or is there someone with the same problem to? In Dutch we say: IK NEUK AL JULLIE MOEDERS!!

I have AMD1800+, GF2MX400 and a AC97 onboard soundcard with Directsound working good.😀

If I am understanding you correctly, you are using XP's built-in SoundBlaster emulation. It works, but it can't handle very much audio data.

There is a fixPOPF bug if you are
1) running XP
2) you installed "Update 1" on top of VDMSound v2.04
3) you installed the GUI and
4) if you used the GUI (or the GUI's VLP shortcut) to launch a BUILD game (or certain other games).

Try using the right-click "Run with VDMS" shortcut that does not have the musical note on the game's executable (or batch file).
(Make sure you have set the SoundBlaster IRQ to 7 instead of 5, to prevent it from using XP SB-emulation.)
