Darklands
It's complete (even includes the promotional stuff in the box), but the important thing is that the manual and gorgeous map are included and in perfect condition. This is a case where I could have likely printed out the manual, but I wanted the map in its original size and in full color.
I never played this back in the day, so I'm looking forward to it for sure.

This is on my playlist too. Part of me is fascinated by it, but the other part thinks it may be too creaky to fully enjoy. Of course, I've felt that way about other games (Wizardry 6, Realms of Arkania, Wing Commander I) but ended up enjoying them enough to finish them, so you never know until you give it a try.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

A friend of mine who owned a copy of Darklands gave it to me to play back when I had a 486. I was in love with the idea of playing an RPG set in historic Europe, and there was a big fuss about realtime lighting etc. In the end, the game never actually grew on me but I want to give it another try as my 40-something year old self one day. Let me know how that works out for you guys @newtmonkey and @clueless1

Received these in the post today from the Centre for Computing History (http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/) eBay store. For some reason I never owned the original Sonic for the Mega Drive!

An Ebay Seller is working through a warehouse of games from his store that closed about 10 years ago -- most are new/sealed-- I went a little nuts.

A game I've long wanted to try but never had a CD-I

Game that has really bad reviews but it's a prequel to NOLF2 so I wanted to try it anyway:

Absolute gem.. I still have my original CD case and manual but the box was long since destroyed -- glad to have this back. I will likely break the seal just to be able to open the front flap cover.

Besides Gothic II (which I own the non-Gold edition box for too) and Starship Titanic I have never played any of the rest so beyond just collecting I am excited to eventually play these titles.

That is a sweet collection of games you got and they have their boxes in decent shape too.

Today I bought from GOG The Witcher 2 and 3 they were on a fantastic sale. Over the weekend GOG had the first Witcher game for free so I grabbed that too. So far I've been playing the first one and it's been a blast. I can't wait to try number 2 and 3.

I've only really played the first Witcher and a LITTLE bit of the 2nd - expect a big change. While Witcher 1 has more of a Dragon Age:Origins/KOTOR style combat with auto-attack animations showing off flashy moves/backflips Witcher 2 (and I suspect 3) has a more action-RPG orientated combat system where you input each attack and roll around quite a bit more.

That's what I've heard. Back when the first one was released I had a few friends kept telling me how good it was but I was so deep into playing WOW that I just never played it and just after a few hours of playing I really feel like I missed out on something great.

Nice haul! A physical copy of Gothic II is well worth having, especially for the ability to install the base game without the NOTR expansion.

I love the story aspect of NOTR, but I'm not a huge fan of the balance changes that it introduces.

I feel exactly the same way! I discovered Gothic series YEARS after it's release -- probably about 2014-2015 and it is just an incredible series. One of my favorites, for sure.

There are actually two US releases of the non-Gold Gothic II I have learned in my collecting.. one with a fold-out front cover art and one without. Gothic II Gold has no fold out cover. The big box for Gothic 1 is really a beauty.

Sometimes it all goes wrong.
Decided to bid on an eBay auction for Gradius (NES).
Then I noticed the seller combines shipping, and had a bunch more games ending at about the same time.

So I bid on a few more games, including a couple that I had almost no interest in buying at full price, but hey, combined shipping.

I lost every auction - except one crappy game that I now have to pay $11 for, because shipping. I didn't win anything else to combine it with.
Damnit.

Well, GOG gave me a discount I couldn't turn down, so I bought Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition today. $17.99 for the game and 5 DLCs. Downloading and installing now. I'll test drive it and if I like it enough, will play after I finish Eschalon: Book III. Seems like it's be a great game. My only concern is I've never been a huge fan of 3rd person, realtime combat RPGs.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.
