This question has too little context to get a good answer. It looks like the beginning of a status message, followed by some garbage characters. If your systems hangs at that point, it most likely crashed, and the garbage characters are caused by the crash. If this happens when you try to boot a 386/486 class PC, chances are that your RAM or cache memory is bad, as this often causes similar crashes.

Please tell us more details for a better answer:

  • What kind of machine does the error occur?
  • When does the error occur?
  • Does the machine emit any beeps?
  • Can you continue by pressing ESC, F1 or something like that?
