Disney+ has removed from their content, classic child movies like Dumbo for its (supposedly) racist content. Games like Leisure Larry Suit and Duke Nukem would not have a place with the modern audience, an audience that likes to complain about everything not politically correct just to be on spotlight in social media.

Strangely, LSL and Duke Nukem are still popular and still sell well on Steam and GOG.

I believe they were removed from only kids accounts (if you had set one up). Adults can still see them, but there's a warning before the film that parts of it are considered obsolete and even racist by today's standards.

You can be crude and classy ant the same time and get away with it. You can't get away with being only one, though (Modern Duke and Larry games are a great example here..).

Well, I think that first versions of Duke Nukem were certainly not a series that is known for it’s positive portrayals of women. However, they brought the 3-D objectification of women in their games.

In Duke Nukem Forever, there were a LOT of feminists complaining about that game installment, in particular about the "Capture the Babe" mode. Back then, it was funny, now its offensive.

The "cancellation" culture/trend on social media is high nowadays. I was just saying that a remake of the game would not have the same stuff and would have a different agenda for Duke Nukem to fight for, thanks to the "politically correct" people.

Regardless of content, Duke 3D is Duke 3D. It's hard to beat prime build engine games.

Not that hard to beat, since the best Build Engine game is Blood.
Duke3D is boring because all the enemies are bullet sponges and the combat is slow.
Even Doom was/is better.

I loaded up Shadow Warrior last night for the first time in a while and geez it sounds good, it looks good, but I just can't stand that game for some reason.

LSL is a pretty shocking game. The crude and crass humor is what shocks people.
The creator of LSL said that the main protagonist is supposed to be satire of male chauvinism.
But I think there is some offensive content in LSL that is actually real and not satire.

At least Larry Laffer isn't a heartless monster like Sam & Max in the OG comics. Sam and Max are monsters.
God the OG Sam and Max comics are so shocking. I thought Usagi Yojimbo was shocking but Sam & Max, its just next level!
I don't know if Johnny the Homicidal Maniac is far worse than Sam & Max.

Shadow Warrior is incredibly annoying in its level and encounter design, it encourages trial and error kind of gameplay where missteps are often immediately fatal. Doom is genious in that it has a nice difficulty (and difficulty slope) while always allowing you to work around sticky situations if you are good at the game - it might be tense and long but you can win almost any firefight, that is what makes you feel so badass. In Shadow Warrior, not so much.

I really liked the reboot game from.. 2016? That game fixed a lot of shit that was wrong with the original IMO. I hear the sequel is even better but I haven't played it yet.

The difference here is that Sam & Max (latter of which is a sociopath by the way) are unmistakably comic humor characters, you can't take anything they do or say seriously. Even the subject matter and story is absurdly surreal. LSL, not so much. I would agree that the original LSL is a crude get laid simulator with some humor (even though most people tend to think of it as a humor game with lewd elements) but the series outgrew those roots with the first sequel and evolved into a more socially acceptable humor/parody entertainment. That said, in an age of VR porn and torture games, nobody cares about these things anymore.
