Hi all, I've recently acquired original copies of Descent and Levels of the World for the Mac. Both are version 1.0. Were any patches released for these Mac versions? All of the old websites have gone.

"This all reminds me when i took the windows vista sticker thingy off my old laptop, and on my washing machine as a joke. A few days later said washing machine stopped working. I still think this cannot be a coincidence."

MacPlay was the publisher, but it doesn't look like there were patches for either title (unlike Descent II): https://web.archive.org/web/19980601000000*/h … es/descent.html

Thanks. I guess the Mac version stayed on version 1.0 for ever. (The final DOS version was 1.5.)

From experience with the mac version's source code it looked like it already had all the 1.5 changes included (plus more; CD audio and 640x480 as standard features).

Gotcha, that makes sense as it came out a year later than the DOS version.
