I bit the bullet and bought a Cyrix MediaGX motherboard from ebay. It was 140$ including shipping from the US and inport tax, witch is pretty steap from my point of view. Pretty pissed I had to pay double what the seller was asking (~68$) beacuse of exuberant shipping fees and import tax. Not sure WHY I had to pay import tax on a 23 year old motherboard witch most would consider e-waste, but I wanted it bad since I've had mediaGX CPUs in my collection for years but nothing to test them on, and I've wanted to test out what is practically the fastest 486 platform ever made from the moment I heard bout it's existence.
The board is an ECS P5GX-M:

New old stock apparently. Came in a sealead antistatic bag with manual and driver CD, but no box or I/O plate.
Did you say 486 platform?

Two lots arrived today.
One with three power supplies, two ATs and one ATX, the ATs lack ignition switches, I bought a new couple.
: The other batch consists of an ASUS P5N-E SLI MB with Intel CoreDuo2 E6750 CPU and four 1GB DDR2 RAMs, plus a bezel for the cabinet doors (unfortunately not of this MB).
The RAMs are in pairs of different brands, one pair is ADATA the other has ELPIDA chips.I can't find a bloody ATX power supply locally at all. The last one I picked up for $20 did some weird things (you had to push power 3-4 times before it would actually kick on) and hten I put it into another system where the power supply spat out some smoke and unpleasant smells.
I think I'm just gonna go buy some new ones, they're only $8 more.
Obviously the ATX was included in the lot, I needed the two ATs.
I have to test them and see the voltages if they are ok.
The lot ATX is of poor quality.
The ATs are intended for PC 486, I hope there are no problems, but if they were broken I would be able to fix them (almost certainly).

I'm legitimately stumped about what this sentence means. "Bezel for the cabinet doors (unfortunately not of this MB)"
Can you post a picture of the part you're talking about?
Unfortunately, the translator has translated badly.
In practice it is this:

The opening are moulded to accept standard drives. I just built the system earlier on today and this is how it looks with drives.
I am extremely confused about those drive bays 🤔 For example, in regards to the 3,5" ones, previously it looked like there were 2 separate bay covers, but now it looks like it's a single piece that has an opening on top for the floppy drive. Is the whole thing a completely separate piece compared to the original photo?

The second bay cover is also removable. Just Inwin's quality tolerances I guess 😀
This is the internals for anyone who is interested. The top panel is even removeable which is really really handy.
Brand new Eizo FlexScan L557. I bought it because it is beige with VGA and DVI. I plan on using it with my Amiga 2000 when I install the RGB2HDMI using a HDMI to DVI adapter. Maybe I'll get a Zz9000 RTG card at some point.

Have one of these (though mine is black), it's a pretty robust unit, albeit the stand is a bit tricky to adjust (I don't know if it's unique to mine or not but sometimes if I adjust it down, it pops back up on its own).
Proud owner of a Shuttle HOT-555A 430VX motherboard and two wonderful retro laptops, namely a Compaq Armada 1700 [nonfunctional] and a HP Omnibook XE3-GC [fully working :p]

I did, but "platform" isn't really the correct term, since the CPUs don't use the 237 pin socket 3. Instead the media gx uses a a 269 pin socket witch is mechanically compatible with socket 7. I guess " 486 architecture" would have been more fitting, as the MediaGX is build around a Cyrix 586 core. 33MHz FSB, 16KB of L1 cache, with clock speeds ranging from 133 to 266MHz.

How did you use the 3 1/2 inch slots with the curved covers? I don't know of any floppy drives that would fit in that opening!

That is definitely a nice looking case 😀
It's kinda reminiscent to the AOpen H600 series, even though the front bezel has not an identical design. And nice to see a beige case like this one that hasn't yellowed at all.
Been lurking on ebay and other sites trying to score deals, my target is not to spend more than 20-30$ at a time. Some recent additions:
A lot of qty 4 IDE drives and qty 2 3.5" floppy drives. Am I the only person who is completely nuts about case color matching and LED matching?
Socket 370 motherboard - MSI MS-6326, came with a p3 733 and some RAM. Will be using this for the 1 ghz p3 cpu which I purchased a while back.
Geforce 2 GTS Pro with 64 mb - unknown brand, the part number doesn't come up on google, would be appreciated if any one has more info on this guy!!
It was missing a fan but I found and ordered a 30 mm replacement on Amazon, it's really meant for 3d printers or raspberry pi but fits perfectly in the heatsink.
P1: Packard Bell - 233 MMX, Voodoo1, 64 MB, ALS100+
P2-V2: Dell Dimension - 400 Mhz, Voodoo2, 256 MB
P!!! Custom: 1 Ghz, GeForce2 Pro/64MB, 384 MB

That's a great case! I have a slightly newer revision with front usb at the bottom.
Bought:
BC875PLG:
CNPS 7000B-Cu:
SL6WG - Intel 3.20GHZ Pentium 4 HT Processor to pair with it (Northwood):
I plan on pairing it all with:
GeForce FX 5900 Ultra
Creative Voodoo 2 12MB
Either a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 or a Audigy 2 ZS PCI (I have both on hand but idk what I want to use)
Soundblaster AWE64 ISA
Should make for a decent Windows 98 SE and early XP gamer PC right? I was running a Pentium 3 1ghz (100mhz FSB) Paired with a Geforce 3 Ti500 before this but I was itching for more and this looks like it should fit the bill.

The PCB color does ring a bell. Could be a Leadtek.
Here some semi-random links

Hybrid Leadtek GeForce2 GTS/PRO?
A Leadteck Winfast would be my first guess. Found it by googling GF2 and then seeing which cards came up in the pics search which have a similar PCB color. Didn't find an exact match for your card though.

Thanks! I didn't think to try to match via PCB color. This one's also the perfect camouflage for a wooden desk 🤣

Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

I've literally put something together this weekend pretty similar to what you are planning on building!
Mines P4 3.06, ibase Motherboard, 512DDR, FX 5900GT, Audigy 2, AWE64 Gold. I haven't included any Voodoo's although I may try a voodoo wrapper.

Very nice! I cant wait till all my stuff gets here, hopefully I get it all before this next weekend! This is my first experience ever with a P4 build (never had one growing up, only had AMD during those times) So I am pretty excited to have something this powerful with an ISA slot. I always shied away from P4's and FX gpus but for the 2003 period (pre SM 2.0 games) it should be fine and windows 98 gaming and dos gaming (where the P4 is too fast I dont care if I have to use dosbox for those titles) it should run everything great I hope. (better than my P3 did)
I never owned an industrial board before, wondering how durable they are, this one I got is new in box.
I have a Windows XP/W10 Build for everything else that requires something more powerful (has a GTX 980Ti and a E5-1680v2 CPU) for SM 2.0 and above titles that runs everything really well.
Ok did not buy anything but was searching thru Ebay, Craigs, etc and was amazed at how much some older computer parts have gone up since the China virus/Covid has been out.
Had things in my ebay history/watch list that in the last year doubled or more in price. I know others have mentioned this huge price increase but was amazed that even a simple ISA IDE controller card more than doubled in a year.
The asking prices are ridiculous and looking at sold prices they are too. Am just rambling but am ashamed at the sellers in USA that they are raising prices far above those in Europe for no reason other than greed...
Ok rant over...
