My DX2/66 came in - think I'm gonna do a live unboxing and initial look over on Youtube this evening. I expect a turnout of 1 on a late Monday night 🤣.

Assuming it's working, and you're not trying to so stuff like loading massive soundfonts, you'll have a perfectly good later XP X-Fi card.

miroSOUND PCM20 radio :3
with PCM1 manuals?
including the MIDI/line breakout box, no joystick adapter unfortunately, but that shouldn't be too hard to make.

I've never figured out who used "SUPER" on the BIOS sticker.

Think I found that tonight. According to http://www.vgamuseum.info, it "Super Grace". Damn, it's fun tracking down manufacturer names and card names / part numbers for hundreds of cards 😀

See my graphics card database at www.gpuzoo.com
Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.

It's a German brand sold mainly in (Central) Europe, so not surprising they're not common Down Under.

If you see anything by them it's worth picking it up though, the build quality and attention to detail on the cards is amazing. In the same league as ELSA (another German brand).

So the 486 came in today, needed 45 mins of work and an IDE cable - did my first live-feed on YouTube unboxing, inspecting, and booting. Then someone bought a rig off me on eBay so... so I bought this:

The start of an EISA addiction?

Arrived today. The Quickshot is awesome, with great precision. The other is a generic stick with a cool feature that support use with both right or left hand, bit the coolness stops there hahaha

I have the same Quickshot stick, it's a good stick indeed.

Intended for young children, it's a huge serial trackball with just one button. What was MS thinking? Still, looks impressive enough.

I love that the kid on the box looks similarly exasperated with what has been placed before him.

Yep. My PCM1Pro certainly doesn't. Looks beautiful and sounds decent in Windows though.

Uhuh. 1990s marketing - you wonder how they managed to sell anything. Then again, they didn't sell that many of these.

Bought this Ericcson MC 16 (rebranded HP 360LX) for 20€. Absolutely perfect condition, only missing the charger and data cable. But it's not a big deal, because it uses AA batteries, which I can charge separately. It would have been so cool to own one of these back in 1997.

I don't know what I'll do with it, but it was too cheap and nice to pass 😀

Just a friendly reminder that posting ebay links is still frowned upon and I might clean the thread soonish

So. Basically, just because it is on eBay, then it is a no-go? As an example. If I posted link to a newly produced Furia020 sold by sordan on eBay, then it would not be alowed. However if I posted a link for the exact same product on sordan's regulair webshop, then it would be alowed? Wich means that posting a link to cheap shrink-tube from China, is not alowed on Vogons?

Just checking up if I understand it correctly.

It's promotion of active user sales/auctions that is frowned upon. Doesn't matter if its Ebay, Amibay or other external site.

Closed auctions you can link to, same with items from stores (direct sale-ads not allowed).

Places like Serdashop have originality and probative value. Same thing with GoG. They don't just have things for sale. They also are a primary source to find information about those things.

Ebay and Amazon have too many avenues for abuse. The mods likely don't want to deal with that whole can of worms.

All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

*sigh*

Guys... I could cry.

This is... or was... a Sony CPD-1302. An exceedingly rare RGB digital\analog selectable multisync monitor compatible with CGA\EGA\PGA\MDA and others.

No words...

Just.........

No words...

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

🙁

is that damage on the inside or outside (anti-glare?) of the tube?

if it's on the inside, what happened even, did it break and lose it's vacuum?

Yeah, it had one layer of bubble wrap around it and it must have gotten compressed end to end. That little curved sliver of glass appears to be part of the neck of the tube that got crushed.

I can't even describe how disappointed I am. The seller said he had shipped many monitors without problems. Said the key was to use lots of packaging. Well... he used one heavy duty bubble wrap bag type thing, put it in the box with some other items, and it got crushed in at least two different directions. It was a rare deal I couldn't pass up, but I'd have much rather left it alone than to have been involved in this thing getting smashed.

If I was slightly less reasonable, I'd cry. No electronic device lasts forever or truly "matters" in the grand scheme of things, but there are so few things left that can do what this does... what a loss.

CRTs are the one thing I never even considered buying/collecting. I got one for free once and immediately gave it away. Too much hassle in every damn way. My C1084S is the only exception to that rule..

I feel your pain my brother! When I'll decide to buy a CRT I'll try to find one in my country and I'll go pick it up myself. I really wouldn't want to see such carnage!
