Hello people,

I recently disassembled a Toshiba Tecra 510CDT (P133 Mhz) and I was wondering if this CPU needs thermal paste?
It has like 2 sets of heat sinks. Between the heatsinks there is a pink thin layer of some material. I attached some photos so you can have a better idea.
What do you think it will be the best approach of putting this back together?

Thank you

I'm asking about this because I checked on a desktop PC with an Pentium-S 120Mhz, and strangely enough it doesn't have a thermal compound between the CPU and the heatsink. The Desktop-PC is from 1995 and it had files on its drive from 2001, so it worked like that those years:D
Well, I think I will apply a thin layer on this one with thermal compound, to be on the safe side, it can't do any damage. I am not sure about the pink layer on the bigger heatsink, wouldn't be better to remove it or to apply over it also some thermal compound?
