I think I found the perfect way to get a sub 1ghz Athlon, sure it's a palamino core but it's got an unlocked multiplier and my 900 goes down to 500mhz and tested it all the way to 1600mhz, best $9 bucks I ever spent, bonus is it's only 1.5v so it's not as power hungry as a desktop chip

The Athlon 4 is a mobile CPU similar to the Athlon XP-m. It's a great choice for a reclockable 32 bit Athlon CPU!

All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

You can also try the Geode NX series of CPUs, which are Athlon XP-M thoroughbred cores selected for embedded applications, so power consumption can be as capped at 6 to 14w. Multiplier is also unlocked and works rather well with the usual Win9x/DOS clock control utilities.

In 2003 i have clocked my standard Athlon-XP (thoroughbred B) from 1.33Ghz to 2.16GHz.
A lower frequency was not possible.

Now i have an Athlon XP-M (barton core) as option and during my last test session with this cpu,
i have reached frequencies from 0.30Ghz to 2.16 GHz (= XP 3000+ ). So it is a delta of 1866MHz.

I'll check them out, I just really wanted a 1ghz Athlon but prices are higher than I want to pay. Now I can also set it to 933 and test palamino vs copper mine as I have a p3 933
