Hi guys,
Had a look on the forum and checked out SierraHelp.com but could not find a reference to choppy audio problems with Space Quest VI and a SoundBlaster Pro. Anyone know if there are patches for this or an updated .drv file?

Thanks,

486 DX 2-66, 8MB RAM, MSDOS 6.22 with a Roland MPU 401 and Roland MT32 for music.

What video card? What chipset does it have? Is it ISA, VLB, or PCI?

What brand/model motherboard?

Hi,
Video card: ISA Cirrus Logic GD-5426 with video bios (CL-GD5428 VGA bios 1.41), Chip revision from InqDesign Revision 1, VESA Version 1.2.
Motherboard is a clone not sure the brand or model number.

Are there any numbers on the motherboard?

Could you post a pic of the motherboard?

Also, what model number is the Sound Blaster Pro?

Hi, So its a Sound Blaster Pro 2 (CT 1600) and sorry I was mistaken on the Cirrus Video card. It's VLB not ISA. Here are the pics. Motherboard is: CH-498B

See this thread. The common factor between these systems seems to be a Cirrus Logic VLB video card:
Crackling sound with several sound cards on 486 VLB motherboard.

I'll have to do some testing of my own when I get a chance.

Thanks for the update. So it was something with the video card. Very interesting.
