Hi all!
Here's the DOSBox logg:
Z:\>mount C C:\oldgames
Drive C mounted as local directory C:\oldgames\
Z:\>C:
C:\>cd disc
C:\DISC>DW2WIN.EXE
This program must be run under Win32
What's wrong?

Your trying to run a Windows program under DosBox. DosBox only supports DOS programs (or Windows 3.1 programs if you install Windows 3.1)
Thanks for the fast reply!
Ok... but when I got the game the readme-file that was attached said:
"This game DOES NOT WORK on Windows XP. Windows 9x or MS-DOS required.
To run it on XP use DOSBOX, a free MS-DOS emulator."
The game is Discworld II - "Missing Presumed"
What to do?
find the dos executable
probably another exe (one without win in the name)

How to ask questions the smart way!
There's only an .exe and an .isu in the game folder, along with the whole cache-folder and it's contents.
But... when I open the CD (iso) i find varius files, both .exe and msdos.
install the game from within DOSBox

ok... ehrm... how do I do that? 😊
start by reading some documentation. 😀
Maybe a tutorial or so.

Ok cool...
Now I've installed the game with DOSBox.
After the installation DOSBox said:
"Now type DW2 to play the game"
so I did, but got the answer:
"Discworld cannot locate the Discworld CD"
ARGH................!
Mount the cdrom different (that's also in the readme),
like mount d d:\ -t cdrom -ioctl
or something like that. Be sure to mount the drive letters
exactly as you did during installation.
ok... tried to do it all over again, and then it worked! Thanks!!!
Just one more question:
How do I play the game next time. Do I have to go over it all again in DOSBox or is there som shortcut one can use?
Have a look at the [autoexec] section in dosbox.conf
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
What should I put there? The whole directoryline up to the exe file or what?
OK... I figured that out!
Ok... The game is up and running!
A problem though...:
Allthough the framerate is down on "0" the game is laggy as hell. Any other way to go with this problem?
PS: Running the game on a laptop
set core=dynamic and cycles=auto in your dosbox.conf
Ah perfect! Runs smoothly and clean...
But the sound is gone... Bloody hell!!!
Hrmpf...
change cycles=auto to cycles=3000.
start your game and then increase cycles using CTRL+F12 until the game is fast.
Ok.... but how high should I go with the cycles... Im up at 22 000 now, and yes, it runs smoothly, but NO SOUND! Any other sollution?!
At which number of cycles did the sound stop working? Or is it never working at all, even at 3000?
