Still have my table. It's the last thing left of my JVC stereo system from another life a centary ago....

I miss full sized component stereos with large 3-way full sized full spectrum speakers.

a one bit computer should be enough for everyone who has two bits to rub together.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Just saw the news. Microsoft introduces ARM64EC, which makes combined x64 and ARM (ARM64?) applications possible.

If you read too much media, everything is dead.

X86 is dead.
Real hardware is dead.
32-bit is dead.
80's pop is dead.
Consoles are dead.
PCs are dead.
ect
ect
ect.

Except it is usually wrong!

Not to Mention Windows 10 is dead given 11 is coming and the 10 support window is MEH at best

What do you have running on that system?

Davuan Jessie. Its a sysvinit based linux which went to archive statis last year.

I think I've proved my point that Xwindows isn't slow at all. Of course Firefox-esr, Doom and a lot oif other games/applications just chug along because my some what under powered hardware. 400MHz plus systems 32-bit systems should be fine with most of them though. Davuan BeoWolf 32-bit is sysvinit based also and will run on any 686 up system just fine and dandy....And the Dacvuan guys inthere forum are great and very knowledgeable if you have any problems. Very willing to help anybody out. And they are fast at doing that.

I'll have to give that distro a shot.

There should be a LOT of red faced vogon members at the moment I'm guessing. They should get down on there knees and prey for forgiveness from his Noodleness The Flying Spaghetti Monster. For it is true Linux does make your systems faster...Oh and more useful

I'll drag out another hard drive and give FreeBSD a shot. It still has support for 486s. I haven't tried any BSD flavor. I'm sure my 15 years with using Linux helps with getting the grips of.

For me personally Linux had put back the F back in Fun with respects to computing.

Peace Out..😉

Lo. l t's great that this thread has turned from a nonsensical thread to a comedy show ..😉

Some folk take life far too serious to be, in fact, detrimental. Poor things.
