Which I spent 6 hours on this week just getting a replacement door on straight. The car is working well enough for now. Door is painted but I need a carburettor, I tried to change it to another one I had and then take apart the original one and clean all the jets and passages. Its slightly better now, but I have a new carburettor on order.

The paint will be redone in a week or so, for now I'm just enjoying the car 😁

The oil stains on the driveway are as a result of applying oil to the inside of the doors as I take them apart. The car does not leak a drop.

I have a sizable 2 acre lot with some decent hills and the transaxle in it is not raited for hills or towing. So I was seeing what would easily fit and the K58r will bolt right up and it's raited for everything I need and it's alot cheaper than throwing down 9 grand or more for a new lawn tractor.

Just back from a nice wee ride on some premo winding undulating back country roads. After ride check done and now she's ready to go to bed.

I also have a project car/daily driver that I've been working on myself since 2016: my 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue GX. Did the brake lines last year, fixed the ABS issues, replaced the crank sensor, O2 sensor post-Catalytic, and fixed the exhaust leak. Needs new pads and rotors up front, rear suspension, the rest of the front suspension, and an undercarriage rust removal with the pinch weld repairs.

It's got over 129,600 on the original motor and transmission and it runs smooth to a point (except when the RPMs drop to 500 when stopping once it's warmed up, which might be an issue with something, but no codes).

Which reminds me: it's time to replace the fuel filter and order a spare fuel pump in case the 20 year old part gives up (easily accessible as I fixed the broken float sensor and pressure sensor).

And back to the retro activity subject, I attempted to fix the bad 72 pin edge connector for the NES by reflowing the pins with solder and that didn't do squat and close to being done with the hard drive archiving for the FMA7600 TFT Pentium 75 laptop in case the drivers are hard to obtain online.

Sounds like you might need to try cleaning your IAC sounds like it's sticking. I had a similar situation with my 01 suburban replaced the IAC motor and it's been perfect ever since.

Today I tried a DOS HWinfo program on Athlon-800.
It probably does not work because I have installed W.ME as an operating system, the DOS version is therefore too recent, to make it work you need to start the PC with an older DOS.
In the evening I added Win 1.03 IT in the CF of 386DX-40 (Canon 8MB), the windows starts but probably due to lack of memory or other I can't start the programs for Windows, here I have DOS 4.01, I don't think a version is needed previous, from memory it worked on a 286 PC, maybe with a 386 it can give problems?

You're right, thanks for your concern.
But it's not as bad as it sounds, it's a tiny CF (only 8MB) that I'm setting up for future use on an archaic PC (XT possibly).
Obviously if I had more space I would have put Win.3.0 and DOS5, I had tried a 128MB CF from SanDisk, unfortunately no disk drive is detected, perhaps it is a BIOS or compatibility problem.
I will try with other more capacious CFs, but I have to wait for them to arrive.

Sounds like you might need to try cleaning your IAC sounds like it's sticking. I had a similar situation with my 01 suburban replaced the IAC motor and it's been perfect ever since.

Good idea. It's been 2 years since I replaced it since the aftermarket one I installed in 2014 stopped all of a sudden.

A sticking IAC valve can cause a whole host of weird issues

Installed the Mario NES shell in place of the one that had crumbled to pieces.

Modded a Commodore64 kernal rom to use different colours (border, text and background) plus changed the text to fit my ATX64 machine's design better....

I used a simple HEX editor for the job.

I was looking through my parts and found a pci sound card called Aureon 5.1 by Terratec. Looking online there seems to be 3 cards, the plain 5.1, Fun and the Sky... I seem to have plain one as it sais nothing on the board.

Anyway looking for drivers i installed the 'Fun' drivers from vogons archive. They were marked to be for XP but it actually installed on windows 98SE. tried in a few games and they actually worked. Also the control panel installed ok.
