Today finally after a long wait the PCI video card with ATI RAGE XL chip has arrived.
It has an on-board memory of 8MB, which is enough for Dos and windows 3.X and 9x programs, especially for resolutions below 1024x768, however the card has no drivers supplied, there is neither a floppy nor a CD.
For the drivers I still have to look for them, I hope it is not complicated to find them, however I think a lot depends on the OS, I believe that specific drivers are not needed with winXP (or higher),
I plan to install it on a socket7 PC and i430 chipset, currently I have a couple of VX on the bench and two TX PCs where I could replace the Vga with this one.

IBM PS/1 Multimedia tower dx33, almost complete, sadly original screen was replaced as i guess the older gentleman had hard time with smaller screen.
Otherwise it seems to just been unpacked and left to dust as it still was on the gentleman's desk.

Not sure why you bother with this, it sounds like a novel idea at first but to be honest it's just a buggy mess that isn't half as compatible as it is fast..

Who the heck is still building Rev A Pistorm boards? Hopefully it wasn't purchased from here -- http://retrocu.xyz/index.php?route=product%2F … t&product_id=68 That dude builds a ton of dud boards (even using the wrong parts sometimes) then just tells everyone to try to get help on the Pistorm discord.

There is weekly updates, and they have come close to 100% chipram access speed.
And I am NOT going to use Kickstart 3.1.4/3.2 and AmigaOS 3.1.4.1/3.2 on this.
I am thinking 2.05 or 3.1 in order to keep it as close to Amiga2000 that my 500-in-PC-Case are build to mimic.

I have no idea. I bought it for playing around with. Not to play any games or use it as the primaery Amiga.
It is going into this machine here: 500-Case-Mod
My primaery Amiga gaming machine, is my A500 Rev8a.1 that I have upgraded: This here... Currently without TF-530 installed.
I also have my A600, that I can use for WHD-Loader if I want something that is more easy....

Basically. I bought it to play around with, and I actually do not know the difference between RevA and RevB boards. So I bought this because it was cheap and came with stuff.

Fantastic. Love how it's so close to the ad. The only items that look even slightly yellowed are the optical drive and mouse. Otherwise, that setup seems pristine. How do the insides look?

Nice catch, that another one on my wish list 😉

Building my own PCs since 1991 - for my retro builds it's "no CF-disks, no Floppy emulators, no modern cases etc.", only the real and authentic stuff whenever feasible.

The condition is immaculate. Did IBM not use yellowing plastics for the PS1? It looks brand new.

Did the PS/1 keyboard use buckling springs? Quite a score.

One of those new stock ebay jobbies? I picked one up recently. I'm sure it will come in handy at some point - but it didn't find its niche in my current setup. My little journey in four posts:

https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/yo … 7#post-18902732
Socket 7 test (DOS rig with P166. Spoiler: Didn't work): https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/yo … 8#post-18903401
SS7 test (Aptiva W98 rig with K6-2, with 3dmark99 test): https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/yo … 8#post-18907524
DOS benchmarks on the Aptiva: https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/yo … 8#post-18908104

As mentioned I let W98 install the standard VGA driver for it, then manually updated it with the Rage 128 / Pro drivers from here: https://www.philscomputerlab.com/ati-9x-driver-archive.html
