I have found my old Saitek Cyborg 3d from ca 1998. The joystick works with my Pentium M machine running Windows 98se. It is recognized and works in Tie Fighter which is the game I want to run.
However on my SS7 rig it does not work. I have connected it with my sb16 ct2290. In windows I have tried the microsoft driver for the game port and the creative driver. The game port installs correctly. After installing the cyborg driver and add the joystick it is not recognized by windows.
In pure DOS 6.22 mode it also does not work with Tie Fighter, it is not recognized when I try to calibrate it manually by alt c. I have not installed any specific drivers for the joystick.
I am aware that the stick has a digital and a analog mode switch and I have tried both.
I have started to think if there is a jumper on the sound card, a bios setting or that the joystick is too new for the sound card. Any ideas?
