I a couple of these on eBay a few years ago and only just now got around to testing them. Two out of the five I bought were completely dead (the BIOS would just beep at boot), one produced a corrupted video output, with only the remaining two being functional.
When I bought these I had thought that it was DVI but it's actually a P&D connector. This is similar enough that it is electrically but not mechanically compatible and there are adapters available.
When paired with an adapter and connected to my HP E190i LCD, it could detect that there is a signal but will refuse to display a picture. The OSD suggests that it is getting a 48hz signal but the user's guide for this add-on suggests that the output is 1280x1024 at 60hz native.
Even though the card has two display outputs, it can only use one at a time and this is determined at power on so it isn't possible to swap to a different connector after booting. The card will default to the digital output if both the P&D and VGA ports are both connected. This made it impossible to boot into Windows 98 where modifying the output resolution would have been possible because the VGA output is disabled.
Does anyone know why the signal is defaulting to 48hz? Has anyone had any success getting this card to work on a 4:3 LCD with DVI?
