I already posted this adapter on the other thread but isn't that good? 😁
It might be for the old Atom mini-itx but who knows maybe also for some older systems too considering it doesn't requires drivers.

Thanks for the info, that's how I remembered...
Pretty sure, I have seen P4 (478, though) not starting up if it doesn't have the AUX12V connected ..
I'm talking about this 6 pin AT style connector for 3.3V and 5V, not the 4 pin "modern" 12V connector...
Found another 8088 XT clone.
Label: TURBO-COLLEGE
Only 3 ROM sockets.
Does anyone know this board?
The name of it makes me think of those kits that were sold as correspondence courses "Learn computers in your own home by building one!" type thing.

Hah.. maybe so. Back in the day... 1997-1998, I took a correspondence course to prep for my Comptia A+ cert.

Nice Board. There is a ROM labeled "Supersoft" on it. Can you provide a dump please? Maybe its another version than the one that is around.
I bought one of these last month. The guy had about 15 of them for sale on eBay for $30ea.
I just purchased one for my IBM PS/1 which requires a 169-pin socket CPU for upgrade.
The package reads it supports a 486dx4-100 or AMD 5x86-133
They are all sold out.
I have not tried it yet.

Thanks!
I made the supersoft eprom myself from here: http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/supersoft_lan … /64KB-256KB.htm
Unfortunately it didn't start, power capacitor replacement didn't help, IRDY signal is missing.
I would need documentation, but I can't find it.

I have an Intel 423 RDRAM board that has the same connector. That's used for video cards, like the Quadro FX or FireGL AGP Pro cards.
For the RAM, it requires either all 4 slots filled with RAM (2 slots with the same size, timing, and FSB, including ECC/non-ECC per bank) or 2 filled with terminator RAM installed and the other 2 with RAM of the same size, timing, and FSB, including ECC/non-ECC).
Also, 478 to 423 CPU interposers might work with the board as well, but I digress as I never tested that before.

Well "that guy" failed the course 🤣

This came in yesterday , really looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype.
Also very much looking forward to enjoying some demo scene tunes 😁
Let’s see how quickly these items get tagged…:)

I think that's the problem. I have only two identical RIMMs and only one terminator.
So I guess I need to find some identical RIMMs. Thanks!

Yup, you got them 😉
Not very retro, but I needed more Amps on the +5V rail because of instabilities. So I decided to buy a Zalman ZM400B-APS power supply with 40A on the +5V.
20A from the Antec EarthWatts 380W just wouldn't cut it. Perfect example of too new of a PSU.
(System: 1GHz Athlon Classic 'Orion', GF4 Ti4600, 2x Voodoo2 12MB, etc...)
i386 16 ⇒ i486 DX4 100 ⇒ Pentium MMX 200 ⇒ Athlon Orion 700 | TB 1000 ⇒ AthlonXP 1700+ ⇒ Opteron 165 ⇒ Dual Opteron 856
This weeks old HW picks arrived:
1. Voodoo Banshee I cant find any information about manufacturer or icc code. It works perfectly on text mode but there are these horisontal lines when windows boots up. Is it repairable?
2. This interesting Yamaha 751b-s sound card with radio decoder. Cant find any info or drivers for radio for this baby. Anyone has seen before such card?
3. NEC D5146h MFM hard drive. Powers up, i can hear heads moving, led flashes but BIos gives hdd error.
Great finds at first look but not so lucky at the end 🙁
bearking wrote on 2021-09-09, 07:08:Unfortunately I couldn't test the board, probably because of the RIMM modules I used. In every configuration I tried, the board wouldn't POST, just gives me three long beeps... I'll try to source 4 identical RIMM modules, but it won't be easy 🙁
Also, I don't have a dedicated P4 power supply, so I used the Antec pictured below. It doesn't have the auxiliary AT style power connector. Maybe I could DIY a cable if necessary.
Also I will need to recap the board, the 3300 microFarad caps are bad...
It's not posting because of the caps, not because of the mismatched RIMMs... All you need is one RIMM and one terminating module.
