How did you feel about giving up AGP for your slot2 build?
Plan your life wisely, you'll be dead before you know it.

Will you be willing to share that STL file?
Its nothing special. But if you want it, sure.

I feel good about it, because the board offers 66MHz PCI Slots and my voodoo clone is PCI so anything good.
Dos 6.22: Asus VL/I-486SV2GX4 Rev 2.0 1Mb L2 - A5x86 X5 P75 - 64MB - AHA-2842A VLB - ET4000W32P VLB - CT2230 - GUS ACE - MPU-401AT with YucatanFX
Win98SE: Asus P5K-WS - E8600 @ 4,5GHz - Strange God Voodoo 5 6000 PCI-X - 2GB DDR2 1066 - Audigy 2 ZS
If the board is EATX, your pickings for the case will be slim. Have you looked for the original HP case for this motherboard?

Remember, only two slots can do 64-bit at 66 MHz. Would a Voodoo5 even benefit from AGP? I faintly recall reading some benchmarks which showed the PCI/AGP Voodoo's about equal. Is my memory correct?

Don't keep us in suspense any longer. Was it fully functional with the 900 MHz 2M 5/12 V Xeons?

That will be the next problem with the case..
Atm im waiting for some power cable to connect the Powerboard with the mainboard.
HP use sometimes strange pinouts, so i have to be very carefully and double check anything before i boot the board first time.
Hopefully next week! Than i will test the 900 2MB CPUs.
About the case, i still hold on my NorthXL. It will need some dremel action, but as i now have a 3d printer im pretty sure i can do it!
And no i dont want a huge server case, this have to go in a normal eatx case. But before case modding begins i want to verify the board is working.
About the voodoo. I run it atm on a pci-x slot on another build. The benchs (PCI 66MHz) look good as AGP. Its pretty much the same.
Here some shots from the Compaq/HP parts:
Atm im cleaning the PSU and install a new Fan. My plan is running two PSUs, the HP one powers the board only. A second small ATX one is for the Drives, Fans and GPU.
Its to much going on at the powerboard and the PSU. I dont have a pinout. Pretty sure its not a good idea using a normal ATX PSU with some self build adapters for power the Mainboard.
Maybe in the future when anything is up and running..
I still dont know if i need that ribbon cables from the powerboard to the Mainboard.
My hope is that i can connect power button and led directly on the mainboard header.

Swapped the Fan from PSU. Pinout was flipped to normal fans. I checked the datasheet of the old fan and the noctua has same stats or better. So should be fine.
With connected power source, the one green LED on the PSU is blinking. On the Power board a LED goes on and stay.
The Fan dont spin. Im not sure that is normal? At least no magic smoke..
Still waiting for the mainboard power cable. I really hope they fit and with bridged power buttom pins the system start.

This is a big sand pit trap.
OEM servers like this REALLY REALLY don't like to be incomplete and/or outside of their bespoke chassis.
I've never been successful, and over the decades I haven't seen anyone else be successful either. I don't say this to dissuade or disparage you, I'm just putting up a big warning sign.
In all servers, the fans always run when the unit is on. So if they aren't spinning, something is wrong. Or it's turned off.
I personally would look into making an adapter harness for a modern atx power supply. New supplies are superior in every metric you can measure. You are not likely to fill all 8 of those pcix slots with 75W cards. Nor are you likely going to attach a huge scsi array. Although I certainly would enjoy it. You are also not going to need or even want multiple loud power supplies.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
I think its turned off.
I looked at the Power "button" board on some pictures.
There just normal switches going without pcb directly on the Power board.
Its ok, i have low expectations. But fun to try out.
But as you say, i will connect the two ribbon cable plugs to the motherboard. Fingers crossed they are 1:1 and not have bridges.

It's almost always 1:1 - putting a twist in a cable costs money.

Fan shroud looks sick af

Was really fun to create. Color matches perfect with the coolers. Hope it will cool also nice 😀.
More cables incomming, but still no power cables. I had to import them from uk. Sometimes its really slow..
I sort out some cards i want to use in the system:
AAR-2610SA/64bit
AUA-4000C USB2.0
SB0350 Audigy 2 ZS

I agree. And if one fan doesn't work all the others go weeeeeee!

i guess there is no fan control in the bios that let me ignore not connected fans?
I dont know the behavior of such system.
When something is wrong there is a warning on boot or just dont boot?

it should always boot if its able, that's a server philosophy - it is a common server behavior to turn all fans to 110% if it detects one or more fan failures.
