Dosbox is now integrated with RLauncher and can be launched and configured from within RLauncher. This is the recommended way of running Dosbox-Rendition. The store based version will always update dosbox-rendition and dosclient with the latest and greatest.

-Massive changed to Rendition register implementation. I hope this improves stability.

Is Rebel Moon locking up for anyone?

I removed register locking and ICR2 works great, but Rebel Moon not so much. TR1 also seems to sometimes randomly slowdown.

Hi, I was wondering, as I never had or researched these cards: are there any games that only had 3d acceleration using one of these cards, or where 3d acceleration was superior to glide/3dfx?

Was checking out some of your videos. Results look impressive, but was wondering if there is much to gain over, say, openglide, dgvoodoo or 3dfx in dosbox staging for certain games, or if your wrapper is mostly for people with nostalgia towards rendition verite.

only had accelerated ports with Rendition.

Currently RReady (Alpha version only, not yet in the Microsoft store, but soon) is the only way to upscale Whiplash (https://youtu.be/oRMVeXXlgDM) to resolutions higher than 640x480. In the video, the geometry is being rendered at 4k/UHD. Eurofighter 2000+ is in the same boat (https://youtu.be/pZEoty04PpM), upscaling is not possible with 3dfx/Dosbox. EF2000+ still doesn't work properly with Dosbox-Rendition/RReady yet, having a lot of rendering defects and general instability. It's one of a number of apps still being worked on.

Scorched Planet might be another exclusive, not sure. It doesn't run with any form of Dosbox, even in software mode.

vQuake (does not run, yet)/vQuake2(works perfectly) are two version of Quakes which had native ports and looks like a software renderer with bilinear filtering. Some people prefer the look of vQuakes over regular Quakes, but it's just a matter of taste, I think.

Thanks! I like Indycar 2 and Fatal Racing, so I'll be checking these out. I think Mechwarrior 2 also looked quite different depending on the type of 3d graphics card?

It did yes.

With this release Nascar 2 and Nascar 1999 should work properly (100% with no rendering defects). Like with ICR2, you may need to set threadsafe=true in dosbox-rendition.conf, just like ICR2/Cart2. I hope to remove the need for this eventually.

So it does, just takes a while to start up and no Rendition mode doesn't work at all yet.
