Yes and it targets Windows 98/Me, I think.
So in principle, Windows 9x is a good alternative to Windows XP nowadays.

And that's kind of funny, I think.
With all the updates applied and some help of KernelEx, Windows 9x can now run XP applications - better than XP can.

So KernelEx really makese sense here. This is so weird. Years before it was other way round.:
Windows 9x had bad VM support and XP was the hero saving the day (running Windows 9x applications).

Your CPU supports it but it's probably disabled in your BIOS (I had to enable on mine to get 3D acceleration in VMWare Workstation/Windows XP).

Last time I've used VMware Player regularily it still had AMD-V and Intel VT as an optional feature.
Which I've used, of course. I had built all my PCs to be VM friendly since late 2000s. 🙂

You do have to use old Vmware Tools but they come with Vmware Workstation and when not they are available on the Internets.

Also to note, Windows XP on my VMware runs less optimal than it should. It crashes on games where it generally shouldn't, and wouldn't on my Intel machine.

To ask: are you trying a VM in the hope that you will erase the troubles of running it on a newer OS and config?
