Try XMSDSK instead. It can work from the command prompt; you can choose the drive letter; you can resize or disable it as needed, and it can create RAM drives >32MB. You can find it at https://dosprograms.info.tt/indexall.htm#utils.

I have used IBM PC-DOS "DYNALOAD" command without any issues to load an entire set of device drivers, even some I custom made for my own purposes. It has the benefit of being extremely small and you can prepend LH to load the driver into the high memory area.

It is freely and legally available from the "IBM ServerGuide Scripting Toolkit version 1.3.07" which you can easily download after a simple Google search.
