And I do not like when someone is so selfish and narrow minded that he simply cannot understand that what he thinks to be better can be worse for someone else. I'm really curious what you would do in the opposite situation.
Let's play with the unlikely idea that you created a 16 -port router for your own needs and then I would write to you:

"Hey Roland User,
Remove the unnecessary 16 ports since my Midi Player only needs 64-channel/ 4-ports and this would make the interface easier to handle and even work on my legacy PC with 1024x768 resolution.
There are no known classic Midi files with more than 64-channels which makes your cluttered user interface hard to understand. Also please remove the unnecessary reset options since my Midi Player already contains all of them so they are completely redundant. Please, make these changes urgently so your plugin can be better."

You have to realize that no one wants to spend hours of work on his own hobby project in order to implement the ideas of someone else when he genuinely does not like those ideas.
