Trying to get this working on Windows 10 with an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti.
Using dgVoodoo2, no matter the settings, it keeps telling me that it requires a DirectX 6 compatible video card... hmmmm.

Did you apply all of the known patches?
I've attached my 3dmark99 patch pack which I think combines multiple patches that I've found over the years (works on a Ryzen 7 5800X3D with RTX 4070Ti).
Depending on which CPU you have (i.e. if you get 0 - 0.1 FPS on all tests), you might also want to apply mkarcher's NOTC fix

3DMark '99 - Geforce7 7950GT on Windows ME. It’s CPU bottlenecked around 24600 3DMarks all the up to 1600x1200, 32bit color, 24bit Z-Buffer. Bumping AA to 2xQ on these settings finally has the card doing some work as shown, but not much more. 22361.

Hi
I'm getting over 51k 3dmark 2000, but only 7k in 3dmark99 max. Any ideas?
System
Windows 98se service pack 3
Cor e duo quad Q9650 oc to 3.8gh
3gb Ram
Stock setting for benchmark (application controlled)
FX3500 quadro 82.69 drivers
Over the top system I know - idle hands...
Thanks!

It sounds like a 70Hz Vsync-enabled score to me.
Unlike all other versions, ‘99 doesn’t disable Vsync.
Another go with the V5 5500@190Mhz, C2D E7500 got 13436 3dmarks

A very respectable score!
Upgraded the CPU to 1.2 GHz Tualatin 256kb L2 Pentium III
Over 6000 with Voodoo 2 SLI.
Usually i score with that K6-2+RageXL machine from 1380 up to 1411 points if i overclock cpu from 400 to 500MHz. I think it is possible to get 20 more points without any overlock for that system, my next goal is 1400 points with Rage3. Still i have 1707 points score also for that ATi Rage XL. 😀

I am looking for "3DMark_99_max_fix.zip", which is a patch to allow 3dmark99 to run under Windows 2000, to avoid the "3dmark needs DirectX 6.1 in order to run..." starting error. All file sources I can find via Google are dead links. Does anybody still have that patch available please?

mkarcher wrote on 2023-02-06, 21:43:Please find attached a patched version of rlfmc.dll that unifies the TSC and non-TSC code paths as much as possible, and switches non-TSC timing from timeGetTime to QueryPerformanceCounter. I validated it as well as possible to work correctly on non-TSC machines and still work as before on TSC-capable machines.
Thanks a lot. Finally a patch that counts FPS. Until this one i always had like 0 to 1 fps counts during the benchmark. Although the results are way lower than they are on windows xp and windows 7
I've attached a screenshot with 33mark99 results from left to right: Windows XP + 10900k @ 5700mhz CPU (6 cores active no HT) , Windows 10 + 13900 @ 6300mhz (6 P cores no E cores no HT), Windows 7 + 10900k @ 5700mhz (6 cores active no HT) .
Although 13900k at 6300mhz is much more powerfull than 10900k at 5700mhz, the FPS is much lower. I would love to try 13900k with Windows 7, but there's no VGA driver for RTX 4090 and Windows 7.
Windows 10 results should be higher if you change to 32-bit color instead of 16-bit color
Working on a early 2000s retro box as a christmas gift for my brother. I'll post pics in another thread but is a very mini PC, like 12x12x4 inches, kind of cool.
Drawbacks, it only has 2 PCI slots, and is obviously low profile, so I grabbed a cheap fx5200 which isn't ideal but seems to do the trick when the right settings and drivers are used (eg. 16bit color in games)

Nice results, I can see that increasing the resolution makes the GPU work, I'll try it in 1080p.

Not amazing, but for titles up to 1999 and mostly DOS ones at that, it should work just fine, and only $10 for at least a 50% increase in performance isn't too bad. Side note, it shouldn't even work, two of the caps are bulging and it came to me packaged without an antistatic bag in a pile of fabric, I just figured "why not, I might as well give it a shot just for fun" and it worked.
