A 9500 i see, it's a good board.
Cpu add on is a G3 something, no experience with that cpu, I think you can run some early versions of Mac OS X with those...

Boxes 2 + 3:

nice nice nice nice :3

got something interesting...
Matrox G200 PCI
with a... digital port attachment?
the plug is the same as DVI, but seeing as how DVI was intruduced in 1999 and this is a 1998 card I think it is actually this earlier standard:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug_and_Display
anyone know for sure? ^^

edit: yep, pretty sure it's P&D, it came with an IBM T55D LCD monitor, that unfortunately broke during shipping 😒 going to have to repair that first... I got it all for 1€ so I didn't even bother to claim anything.
while the specs in the internet for the T55D suggest "DVI" in most places, this seems to be wrong, cause when you google a bit you stumble upon this:

Product Positioning:
The IBM PCI Digital TFT 2D/3D P&D -D Graphics Accelerator Adapter (10L7128) is designed to complement leading-edge P&D digital
monitors such as the IBM T55D (1024 x 768) Digital Monitor and the IBM T85D (1280 x 1024) Digital Monitor.

"10L7128" is IBM's part number for this G200 card.

Thought so too!
Gotta be an interesting story behind that.
No doubt someone felt strongly that they should pay extra for white sockets =)
Still a green PCB tho, one would think that would have been easier to change even back then.

white sockets was kind of elitegroups's thing back then x3
I also got a socket 5 board from them that even has white DIP cache sockets.

Both items are unrelated. The mainboard was bought via local classifieds from a very nice seller and the CPU was bought from an auction house.
They just arrived at the same time.

The Amazon cardboard is also just what I use for testing hardware when it arrives and not related, too 😉.

Cool stuff!
In the lot °2 picture there was a PowerMac motherboard, could you take a close picture of it? Thanks.

Nice! I have one of those CPU upgrade cards. In PC terms it's an adapter that lets you put a pentium 3 into a pentium 1 board.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I have one of those loose. Would you mind uploading the driver disks? Thanks!

Picked up an old ATI 5850 for a cheap price ($30 AU)

gbyte 5850.jpg

Excellent card for my windows XP retro build, and nostolgic because it is the same (or similar) to a card I used to have years back but died.

Had to clean it and repaste it .... wasn't careful the first time and used way too much paste. Cleaned it AGAIN and did better this time.

Sure, I'll upload the disks when the box arrives. It's now at my fried's place in US.
In the meanwhile, if you need the driver - it's here Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

This week I received two InWin S500 cases... in the seller's photos they looked nice and white so I was a bit disappointed when they turned out to be slightly yellowed. Also, they came with only one set of drive rails each, which sucks if I ever want to put in more drives. I will contact the seller again and see whether he still has the rails...

The second parcel was an MSI MS-5169 Ver. 2.1 Super Socket 7 ATX board with a K6-2 300 MHz on it. Was sold as untested and so far it seems to be dead. No POST, no beeps. Will investigate further tonight.

There have been better weeks...

Maybe they used stock images for the case. As for the board, get ye a PC POST card and insert it to see if there's an error code on there and to make sure the voltages are correct.

Today I received this little beauty.
The mighty Intel DX4, 100MHz pure power.

Okey, it's not a WB version, but even so it's a nice addition to replace the DX2 on my Intel Ninja motherboard.

Not entirely sure of the heat sink, maybe I'll just fit a better one... This looks like DX-50 material to me.

Stuck at 10MHz...

I personally went with an active heatsink on my DX4-100 just for a little extra longevity.

Anything short of watercooling is madness.
