I have encountered with a problem with Asus P3B-F at jumper free mode. I have a Slot 1 Pentium III 600E processor. The mainboard with all dip switches off, opened itself as being Pentium III 800EB, this is quite abnormal, I have set the switches for 100 fsb and 6.0x position. I have used Matrox G550, this one does not like 89 MHz, crashes after a couple of minutes. I know slot to socket adapters very well, but on this mainboard, it is quite not logical 'for me' to use a Tualatin, because the AGP speed is only 2x. (On Asus P3V4X it has 4x graphics like Asus P3C-E, I have those 2 boards as well.) I will use Coppermine 600E or 500E on Asus P3B-F. I have got a Gigabyte BX2000 as well, it is also a BX family member, one of those Coppermine's will go on it. But yes, I will flash DenizOezmens' bios build quite later. I also have a nVidia GeForce 6200 card. I have tried this one with Gigabyte BX2000, but it caused a conflict with mainboard resources. I will soon try that card on Asus P3B-F for testing with 133 fsb.
Why 'for me' I think? That is, because those BX cards can not use higher speed nVidia GeForce 6600 and 6800 cards because of slot mismatch. The graphics card notch on BX mainboards does not allow them to plug them on.
Latest Note: (21-05-2025) The reason for Pentium III 600E, opening like a Pentium III 800EB is, forgetting the 3 pin 2 mode jumper at manual mode. My mistake, everything is fine now. I have also installed the modded bios by DenizOezmen.
