Wtf one of these modules is 16MB 🤣...

Jesus insane server grade memory... Best i have seens here are EDO 72 pin 64MB, my best sticks are 32MB Siemens... And the 128MB Compaq EDO DIMM, but that is another thing, they have prob up to 512MB and maybe even 1GB per module...

Yeah, I have modules like these and similar ones in both SIMM and DIMM form factor. They are pretty common. Some sitting around my desk right now:

I don't have any Tetris blocks to add, but I do have one of these. I feel like all of the nonsense of these huge memory "sticks" is from manufacturers trying to find clever ways to get rid of their old stock of chips. No one will ever see it inside the computer anyways, right?

99p for this Compaq motherboard from, it appears after a lot of searches, a ProLiant ML350 G2. I was kind of hoping the bottom slot was EISA but it turns out it's for the 'Feature Board'. Dual Tualatin capable! Now if I only two Tualatin CPUs. Or even one.

Sadly that bottom slot is brown, not black and is not ISA it is clear... And you wont be able to run dual CPUs as well, unless you find the VRM module... Also if you dont have the proper Compaq PSU the board is useless... Hate that crap, my Compaq AP550 Pro came without the PSU, and is some special 20 pins + 6 pins...

Now when i did look more at that pic the VRM slots are 2 🤣... That prob means the board wont work at all unless there is one VRM installed...

Damn these modules and budget crap from OEMs...

Yeah I know about the VRMs, although they're pretty cheap. I figured the PSU was proprietary at least in part with the extra input header.

Not much today, only ALS100+ ISA sound card for 486 that's on the menu to be built next.

Got 2 velociraptors, 500GB each for under 16 euro. Never knew they made them this large. I have two 74GB, two 150's and 2 300's now.

Why not start a collection 😀

The "plus" has an emulations of the FM synthesis "OPL3" integrated, while the card of that Youtube video has the "LSL262" clone of the real Yamaha YMF-262 chip.

The (original) ALS100 is pretty common and there are plenty of others to chose from:

OK, sorry, that's a bit like spoiling a movie - the card will sound different, not worse. It just a conventional feature. Try it and compare some time, that's the fun of it 😉

Dell did something similar with their early Pentium 4 motherboards where they put the VRM module on a removable board. You'll definitely need to install one for anything to work. It could be very tricky to locate the correct module to use, as there may be many different kinds. It would be best to find a part number from someone who has a complete board already, to be absolutely sure.
