Can you confirm (found it in a message from pshipkov)
.... pin B13, connected to +5V -> L1 WB enabled.

Is that all is needed for Am5x86 setting L1 to WB?

There are three things you need to get a properly working L1 WB system.

....
On the VL/I-486SV2GX4, this is accomplished by setting JP16 3-4 (for SRESET), JP17 2-3 (for INV) and JP18 2-3 (for HITM).
......

On the VL/I-486SV2GX4, this can be enabled by setting JP16 1-2.

.......

Hi, thx again, but now I am a bit confused. Are we talking about the same mainboard?

What you wrote does not fit to the board at all?
I have JP16: 1-2 and 4-5,
JP17: 1-2, 5-6
JP18: 1-2,5-6

I think for L1 WB JP21 is important on VLI Rev.2.x

EDIT: @mkarcher.

So there are 3 different jumper settings, 1.7 and 1.8 are different, too?
So sorry, you were talking about 1.7 I guess.
It is confusing.

Remark:
I played around with the jumper settings: I found a lot of possibilities to get no signs of life with an AM5x86. WTF. The board still works though, I will try to restore the settings that Am5x86 worked with L1 WT and 4 multiplier.

I was quoting what TheMobRules wrote in Re: How to set Asus VL/I-486SV2GX4 (SiS471) into L2:Write-through mode? , which indeed applies to revision 1.7 of the 486SV2GX4. You mention to have a 486SVGOX4 Rev.1.2 mainboard, which not only differs in the revision number, but also in the model number. Comparing the images of those two boards on the web, they seem to be very similar though.

EDIT: fixed quoting

Hello,

Yes, I will check if those settings work for the Rev.1.2, too.
The jumper block for the CPU type looks similar, the jumpers do have different numbers though....
I will try it. 😀

EDIT:
I cannot try that ....
Rev.1.2 has 5 CPU jumpers, Rev.1.5 (1.7, 1.😎 6 CPU jumpers and Rev.2.x has 7 CPU jumpers ....

I give up now trying to set L1 WB on that board, I can set it at least to L1 WT, multiplier 4 and it seems to work properly.

Never give up.
I saw that I made mistakes when following pins from the CPU to the jumper block.
So I re-checked it:
CPU A10 = INV goes to JP19 pin 3!
CPU A12 = HITM goes to JP20 pin 3!
CPU B13 = WB/WT goes to JP18 pin 2!
CPU B12 = CACHE goes to JP22 pin 1!
CPU C10 = SRESET goes to JP 18 pin 4!

OMG, I can't believe it! The board booted in L1 WB mode with the jumper settings shown in picture. YAY.
