Hi!
Geforce 3 500Ti is very faster than lowend 6200 i've try it here : http://www.xtremehardware.com/forum/showthrea … ?t=49388&page=3.
I love retro stuff but sometime is very boring test it? 😈

Hi, welcome aboard!
It's Italian I think (?), could you perhaps tell us a bit more about that forum?
I know about a German forum and about an Aussie forum but can't join because it requires some non-hotmail email which I dont have so I can't join there 🙁
Good evening Tetrium.
For to create a new account on this forum you can use your mail account from every provider, hotmail included . Usualy we writing on these forums in italian but you can post in english and surely we read your post and we try to answer to it. 😊 .

Would an account from GMX work?
All hail the Great Capacitor Brand Finder

Dunno.
And I made an error regarding the German forum, I can't actually remember if I actually tried to register there, but the aussi forum definitely required some none-free email.
I still have one, though never used it.
It's not really an issue I think, I'll get around to it sooner or later 😀
It's not a fair comparison I think. The GF3-Ti500 is actively cooled. The GF6200 agp is cooled passive.
The better comparison should be GF3-Ti200passive against GF6200 passiv.
The passive Versions of the 6200 have only a 64Bit memory-interface, but they are very good at
later shader-intensive games. I think for the earlier stuff, the GF3 should be the better option.
The GF6200 tested here is 128Bit actively cooled!

I think I should do the testing on my system in order to check out how good the gf6200 agp 64Bit
really is.

If you want to feel free, my inventory is much changed.
The only AGP cards I can test with are
Rage 128 Pro AIW
Riva TNT2 Pro
Geforce 2 MX400
Geforce 4 Ti 4200
Geforce 6800GT
And I think we all know how those comapre 🤣
I am currently testing my GF6200 against my GF3-ti200.
What I can say is that both have a bad picture quality on low-res (dos) but the GF3 seems to be worse.
The GF3 has less problems in compatibility in older games like "severance" and a bit better performance,
but the GF3 can't run the ATI 8500-9800 Demos...
I have to do further testing...

I'm pretty sure the Ti 500 does not compete wit h this one:
This is early GeForce 6200, uncrippled.
It also unlock to 8x1 and reaches 6600 Clockspeed 😁
The GeForce 6 is also avaible as super trash version called 6200A-LE with only 2 Shaders..

likely, the 6200 i tested against was a 64bit model, so it stands to reason as close as the scores where that a 128bit model would be faster, it does have more vertex shaders, higher core clock speed, z culling, and on and on.

That is kind of an exaggeration, they performed worse than the next tier's mid range cards (Ti4200) so unless you compare them to a later card with a 64-bit memory bus they will fall behind. It wasn't even the contemporary performance leader at the time, the Radeon 8500 eventually stomped it with driver revisions (even though everyone only remembers the initial launch performance, unsurprisingly..). They are strangely rarer than Radeon 8500s, however. I have no idea where all the Ti500s went. Probably not many were made at all, due to yield issues.
For sake of comparison:
The 6200 stomps the X600PRO, which is a beefed up 9600XT, which is a beefed up 9600PRO, which readily stomps the GF3 Ti500.
Be carefull, there are many different 6200 cards available. They offer a wide range of performance.

The 8500 overtook the Ti 500 after the Ti 4200 had come out, so its irrelevant, also which 6200 is it?
6200 NV43, 6200 NV43 64bit, NV44A 128bit, NV44A 64bit, NV44a 128bit DDR2, NV44A 64bit DDR2
The 6200TD beats the 8500 easily.
No Chance. it also beats the Ti4800.
Its was pretty good bang for 129€ at is time.

OH those first gen AGP 6200's where great values, most could unlock in Riva Tuner to 8pp and you'd get a free upgrade to a 6600 non GT
