I look every where for a dosbox.conf as in Windows but I can't find.

I tried to find an How To on this forum and zip.. nothing about.

Anyone knows how can I configure the dosbox on Linux ? Where are the files ?

Thanks

Look at the README (specifically the CONFIG command used from inside dosbox)

I usually use the -conf command line option to specify a .conf file.

If you do not have any dosbox.conf file you MUST FIRST create it.

Inside DOSBox...

config -writeconf dosbox.conf

READ THE README/DOCS.

Sorry people.

I use the DOSBox on a w2k pro and I find everything about the DOSBox configuraton on the README as you say.

But on Linux I find only a dosbox on \usr\bin\ and nothing more.

If I execute DOSBox the DOSBox window open with the z:\. After a dir I find a lot of .COM and a Autoexec.bat. Nothing more. I look for a readme outside and I didn't find.

I tried using the config.com but he create the .conf file on the /usr/myname/ folder. After that the DOSBox command don't find it. I not tried yet to create the .conf with the name dosbox.conf. I'll try it.

Thanks everyone.

in the readme should be mentioned
that you should/could call the file
~/.dosboxrc

That way dosbox will automaticly use it.

I know that because of my windows installation. But on my Linux distro, Debian Sarge, I don't find the DOSBox's README. I look for everywhere. I do not know the reason. The result installation give me a return code 0.

The creation of a dosconf.conf ocured on the /home/user/ directory and was recognized by the dosbox command.

Just open up your dosbox package with a compression program and see if there's any documentation in there. If so then it should also show the path that it'll install to.
