First post, by Kerr Avon
I've been playing Seleco recently, and I was pleased to find that the brilliant Ashes 2063 has been updated with more content. So here is a topic about new, or not so new, but really good first person shooters that you might not have heard about but would probably enjoy. Free or commercial, science fiction or military, console or PC, please post good FPS games that might not be too well known about.
Firstly, there is Selaco, a commercial game, released on Steam:

The game runs on the GDZoom engine (supplied, it's a standalone game), though you wouldn't think it to look at the game, and despite being in Early Access, it plays and feels like a full game. It really is excellent
Next, is Ashes 2063. This excellent game has recently been updated. It's set in a post apocalyptic dystopia - yep, yet another game set in a post nuclear war USA, but don't let the so-common-it's-boring setting put you off. It's been called the best Doom total conversion ever, though I don't know how accurate that is since I don't keep up with the Doom mod scene, but it really is fantastic, and does non-Doomy stuff, such as neutral NPCs, drivable vehicles, and the ability to craft and upgrade your stuff.
Download the complete package, which includes Episodes 1 and 2, and the expansions Hard Reset, and Dead Man Walking, from:

if you just want to play the game, then download the 'Stand Alone' version.
A game I've heard a lot of good about, but haven't yet tried it myself, is Fallen Aces:

Blade of Agony is a free game based around the Wolfenstein series of games. I've not played this one either, but I've seen it recommended a few times.
