After I exit Dosbox, (wich by the way is awsome thanks for everyones effort and contibutions) my wallpaper, icons, images, exc the colors are wrong about 50% of the time.

I can not seem to figure out why it is random. The only cure that I have found is to reboot.

system config
Intel 2600
xp home
ati 7200
audiolgy 2

If this has been previously disgust sorry I looked but I could not find any thing on it.

Thanks in advance.

Could you post the contents of your DosBox.conf file please? Specifically we are looking for what Output= says. You may also want to try the different output methods and see if that fixes your problems.

Also...are you using the latest Radeon drivers? IIRC, the latest are Catalyst v5.8, although I think 5.9 may have come out recently.

Running DOSBox in fullscreen? I have similar problem and it seems to be something ATI-related. It is not isolated to DOSBox at all. Sometimes when I switch to fullscreen using non-native color resolution (my desktop is 32 bits) the gamma is completely off when I switch back. Switching screen resolution to a different one and back helps. Very annoying as I do a lot of work on photos and my monitor has to be properly calibrated. I have Radeon 9800 Pro, Catalyst 5.4 (time to update driver, I guess).

I don't have that problem on my Radeon 9800 Pro, but it's probably because I'm using ATI Tray Tools.

vasyl: What program and/or reference material do you use to color calibrate your monitor(s)?

I use hardware calibrator Spyder2 with PhotoCAL. I've got an impression that ATI drivers just don't understand that there is a profile in use in Windows and try to force driver settings upon leaving fullscreen. When switching between desktop modes some other logic takes precedence and Windows profile gets reenabled. I will upgrade to 5.9 and see if it is still happening. Hopefully, they fixed "infinite loop" bluescreen as well.

Interesting. I might look into getting one of those. I don't do much image manipulation, but I'm the video equivalent of an audiohpile, whatever that is (videophile?). I think this is a link to the manufacturer's site in case others are interested: http://www.colorvision.com/profis/profis_sear … partment_id=401

I have left Dosbox.conf at its default except for the autoecec so that The game loads automaticly

fullscreen=true
fulldouble=false
fullfixed=false
fullresolution=1024x768
output=surface
hwscale=1.00
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper.txt

I had problems with Catalyst 5.9 when installing the mediacenter perhaps its because its an old card but I so I reverted back to 5.8
