Hi, guys! I'm new to this forum, but I searched for a solution to my problem and couldn't find one.

I installed FreeDos on a bootable flash drive and plugged it into a relatively modern computer:
Motherboard Foxcomm G41MXP
Intel Celeron 430 1.8 GHz
2GB RAM
GeForce 625

All early nineties games run great. Doom, Quake, and so on. I also ran old games like Wizardry, and everything was fine.

An interesting bug appeared when I launched the demo version of Monkey Island - these black stripes appear all over the screen. It's not crucial for me to run this particular game and fix the bug, but I'm curious why it happened and what it might mean.

Did the black stripes appear and then you couldn't play it any more? If so, it might be that the game crashed. In my experience, when VGA games like DOOM crashed, they would crash back to DOS, but leave the system in a graphics mode with some black lines on it, and if you typed CLS and hit enter it would go back to text mode so you could see the DOS prompt.

Here's an example of it happening with DOOM:

It looks a bit different to your case, but it could be due to different graphics modes being used.

If that's what happened, then you might be interested to know why it crashed, and I'm afraid I have no idea about that.
