Recently, I got my own HP 200LX and installed a 2GB CF card in it. First, I installed some IDEs for DOS, like Turbo C 2.0 and Quick Basic 4.5, which went well. Then I installed Windows 3.0 and tried to install some other IDEs for Windows. It was the first time I noticed that most Windows 3.0 programs require a 286 or 386 processor. I tried Visual Basic 3.0 and 1.0, Visual C++ 1.0, and Borland C++ 3.1, but all of them require a 286+ processor. I also tried Turbo C++ 3.1, but the installer just kept Windows busy for a while and then nothing happened. So, are there any IDEs that can run on real-mode Windows 3.0? Do you have any recommendations, or do such IDEs exist? Thanks.

Nice little machine, I'm jealous! 😁

I remembered this previous thread where we talked about IDEs for Windows 3.0 and real mode, and I see that the original poster there was also looking for IDEs that could run on exactly the same machine as yours! I think that Jo22 suggested some possibilities like CA-Realizer in that thread but wasn't able to confirm any due to limitations of emulation, although I only skimmed it. That thread is still somewhat alive so perhaps if you're able to try any of his suggestions you can let us know if they worked or didn't work, or perhaps ask what the original poster ended up doing.
