For many of us, the soundtrack to doom have a special place in our heart. I first enjoyed it with the Yamaha OPL, then with the GUS and different patch set. Being somewhat of a midi file, I'm always interested to listen to it (amongst other quality video game midi) on different tone generator. But there is something that transcend this technical facility and it's those inspired album or cover. I really enjoy listening to those and I was wondering if people know others, I think they are usually public domains are quite easy to collect.

So far I have those three, there is:

- Doom ][ Delta-Q-Delta

- The Dark Side of Phobos

- Sonic Clang covers

Someone just brought this to my attention : https://archive.org/details/doom-music/ it seem it is an arrangement of the doom soundtrack where the modifications are subtle but real. I noticed using soundfx in a rhythmic way and enhancing the drum track. "3. Intermission from doom" play noticeably faster and I think it give the music so much energy boost. The rumor also state that it was made by the Prince himself ! It's not clear to me what tone generator he used to render that music, any information is welcome. So I will add it to the list here.

@ratfink : I dont really understand what this page web is, it seem to me it might be a blog about someone who setup a motorhome in the forest and sometimes talk about music inspired by the idea behind the doom story ? Did I missed a part where the guy cover some doom soundtrack ? Thank you

Scroll down to the Eternal Doom soundtrack (it's for a Doom expansion - but that may not be what you are looking for), and further down there is At Doom's Gate revamped for XG midi - here's the Youtube version
