I don't know if this has been discussed before, but since I saw it as an issue on the compatibility area, I'll go ahead and post it anyway.....

I was messing around with the launcher and it's settings and found a way to get rid of that nerve breaking audio loop on VGA Sierra games.....

Using the launcher, create the VDM shortcut and use the following custom configuration :

On Sound Blaster use IRQ 5

But on the DOS Environment type in the following on the AUTOEXEC.BAT area

SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H5 T6

You might need to download the latest AUDBLAST.DRV that were released.....

This did the trick on Conquest of the Longbow & Dagger Of Amon Ra..... Haven't tried it on others.....

I'll be messing around with KQ5 next... let's see if there's a miracle on the making

Is this in Windows XP? If so then you may/may not be using Windows XP's sound emulator in NTVDM or VDMSound's. It's hard to say...anyway's if you can figure out which one works for ya then this modification isn't necessary. Just use the sound emulatin that works.

Actually, I am using XP, when I installed the "newer" AUDBLAST.DRV files into these games and ran them through VDM the digital audio was looping..... I tried every combination of setting on the SB tab and none helped get rid of the looping audio.... This was the only way I could get it to stop.... what is the XP sound emulator in NTVDM???... are you talking aboiut the basic Sound Blaster tab??

This has already been discussed, and quite recently, I might add.

read this thread. Specifically, scroll to the bottom where there is posted a URL to a homemade fix.
