I am looking for the Catalyst packages for Win98 from the 6.x and 5.x series for testing with a Radeon 9200 (I have some problems with Catalyst 6.2).
I know there is a package labeled "ATi Catalyst Driver collection for Windows 98" on vogonsdrivers https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fil … 669&menustate=0 but actually most of the drivers it contains are for Win2k and XP, except for the 6.2 and the very early 2.x-3.1 drivers.
AMD's website doesn't have anything but the 6.2, and as I said I have some issues with that one. And I don't trust stuff downloaded from "drivers" websites.
Any source for trusted installers for the 5.x (5.2-5.13) or 6.1 for Win98?
Anticipated thanks. 😀
(I've even tried old versions of the ATI website from 2003-2005 on archive.org but unfortunately the archived versions of ATI's website from that period are non-functional)

I ran into the same issue a while back. Looks like most of the Catalyst drivers for Win9x are gone from the internet, except possibly for some obscure FTP sites, or maybe magazine cover discs from that time.
I did find Catalyst 4.3 for Win9x here on Softpedia, and that worked with my Radeon 9000 Pro. Not sure if it's suitable for 9200 and 9250 cards though.
Been shaking out the couch cushions of some older sites, only ones I came up with that didn't say they were 2k/XP or 6.2 were these http://www.oldversion.com/windows/ati-catalyst-drivers/
But they still might be XP... I see that site with ad blocker running so don't know if it's a chaos of "Download here" buttons but the real one is green, turns yellow on hove, hover url is oldversion.com link and it says "Download Now"
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
Yay, the 4.10 that I downloaded from the retro web (link above) works, and 3DMark2001 doesn't crash.
Good find, someone should probably put it on vogonsdrivers. It's the whole install CD, about 600MB.

Did a quick benchmark set with 4.10. In 3DMax 99 it scores about 5% lower (same card, same system) as with 6.2; in 3DMark2000 it scores basically the same, and in 3DMark2001 it scores almost the same as a GF3Ti500 (couldn't compare against itself because it crashes with 6.2). I'm happy with these results. Games run smoothly, including 2003 games.
