I bought one USB drive and it works but I realized I couldn't really find anything about compatibility and drivers.

W10 recognizes it and works fine, Linux doesn't and Mac is bad (slow r/w). Too bad the 750 disk inside was in fact dead (impossible to format and has plenty of errors and track reading issues).
W98 sometimes froze, no idea why. And that's the pc I use for 100 and 250 drives no issues.
I still have to test W2K and XP.

Everything is welcome.

----

With Iomegaware 4.0.3 Zip unit is detected as USB unit, and iomega software does detect it's something of the family but can't format disks or properly function.
I'm looking for anyone with the original software CD that came with it.

Thanks!!

Works in a similar fashion on Win11 as Win10.
Works on Win7 no problems, WinXP and Win2k works as intended. Never tried Win9x, Win98, Win95.

Theyre good drives but not as bullet proof as the internal IDE drives.
They can be powered from a USB port with the apropriate USB to barrel jack cable, I got one with multiple swapped ends off ebay.

The disks are semi available, not so plentiful as Zip250/100 disks.

It can write 750 and 250 disks but cant write Zip 100. Cant remember if it can read Zip 100 though.

I also tried in Linux but didnt get very far and gave up not long after as it isnt really important to me on the systems I use.

Under Win7 it drops off My Computer until a disc is inserted in the drive, you can use the Eject command in the Right click context menu...
I seem to remember Win10 had problems with that, I think it ejected the drive itself, but dont quote me on that.

I'm using IOMEGWARE 4.0.3 but 750 can't work well on W98SE.
Haven't tried XP yet.

Does anyone have the version that came with this unit?
