I have a ICL DRS M35/286 PC that refuses to detect any EMS memory in DOS. I have added 2x256 sticks of ram as XMS and they work fine.
I have tried the 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 versions of the CS82C235 driver on MS-DOS 3.31, 3.30, 4.01, 5.0, 6.22 and DR-DOS 5, have tried both I/O address options (208 and 218) , DIAGS=ON, putting it at the top and bottom of CONFIG.SYS.
In the BIOS Setup I have tried to use automatic configuration (shadow ram enabled, 512k XMS), disabling shadow ram, making XMS memory act as EMS, removing the extra memory sticks but nothing works. The BIOS sees all the memory when checking System Information.
I have also tried the NEAT Chipset driver with the same error message.

Can anyone help? I don't know what else I can try...
