Hey guys

I wonder if somebody could help me on this.

I remember some of the old ATi tech demos from the time, not all of them, there are a few Ive seen on youtube I dont remember back in the day but there is one I dont really remember at all and I cant find any information or footage of either.

Sapphire had a white ninja doll figure on their cards
Was that from a tech demo or is it just a picture they put on their cards?
I thought all the characters on the video card coolers were from tech demos, Like Ruby.

This was the time when many manufacturers put some comic pictures on their cards. If I remember correctly those were just "nice pics" and nothing else, nothing which has something to to with official ATI tech demos.

All official ATI tech demos from Rage 128 to Radeon X1800 are available on my website's video card tech demo page -> https://soggi.org/video-cards/tech-demos.htm.

kind regards

Yeah your website was probably the most interesting sites I went on in my googlings around before I posted here.

I was looking at the x800 cards and found the Sapphire cards and saw that doll and don't really remember it.
So you think it's not something Sapphire made, it's just a graphic? No video to go with it?

Manufacturers had many pictures on their cards, somewhere I have a card with a shark (some X800 or X850). I don't know where the pictures come from (maybe some anime/comic stuff) but they aren't from ATI tech demos from what I can see.

For me it was strange when they started to put these pics on their cards back then, I couldn't do anything with it.

Oh that is weird!
I thought they were all from a tech demo. I didnt for a moment think it was just some random artwork.
I vaguely remember one with a shark too. That was just artwork? really?
So this white tattoo'd doll thing is just random art?

Possibly not "random" art as they did it to sell more products (or sell them for more money) but nothing official from ATI...later there were also figures from several games, I think - the same card with with different pictures existed (like if someone collects equal video cards with different decals - that was so ugly, just for the money). As said above, I always found it weird to put such anime/comic on cards especially because they are seldomly seen by anyone while doing their work in a PC.
