On a whim. I've always had a physical attraction towards this style of ram. Perhaps even a mutual admiration. Amidst a bit of tension while in each other's company.
GEIL EVO XII ddr4 3600mhz. Turns out it's all black. Now as we all know, or at least all of us that remember the 70s, black indeed is beautiful. But I had thought there was more color to the encasements. There is a extra helping of color once you plug it in, as these have rgb blinkenlights. Still I thought these had more stylish color even when off. But they say once you go black you never want to go back. So I won't fret.
Ok to my point. These sticks are really big. I mean freaking Kaiju monstrosity big. It remains to be seen if these will bully a heatsink/fan right out of the case. But the thing that especially irks me is the possibility as to why these patio blocks are so big. Is it to compensate for the fact that they are repurposed in fact used crappola that was repackaged and sold as new? I think GEIL is a Taiwanish company, don't want to unduly badmouth them. Just after buying several motherboards from a neighboring country, one which shall remain unmentioned, just to find out YUP these are repurposed used crappola, well I'm a little wary of semi unknown brands. FROM ASIA. That isn't too specific is it? There is no wear or tare on the copper fingers, so no indication of prior use there.
But other then some perhaps unwarranted sneaking suspicions, and the size, I see no reason to be unhappy with them. So what think you?
At least these things weren't packaged in a white cardboard carton with a shiny wire for carrying. Oh I didn't say that, did I.
