Hi all,
I decided I wanted the frustrating experience of setting up OS/2 for the first time ever for me. It actually went pretty well but I can really see why Windows won out in the end, OS/2 is very unforgiving if you make any mistakes during setup or configuration.
Problem I am now having is I want to get this connected to my LAN and connected to the internet. I have a 3com Etherlink III in the system and it has drivers loaded and the card appears to be working fine. However, when it is connected to the LAN, during startup it will hang after loading the 3com driver and after a minute or so will say:
"DHCPSTRT: DHCP client did not get parameters. DHCPSTRT: Continuing to try in background"
Hitting enter will continue and it will boot into OS/2 no problem. Opening the DHCP monitor just shows it trying to discover DHCP servers but seemingly not finding anything.
In TCP/IP Configuration I have Lan Interface 0 enabled, with "Automatically, using DHCP" selected and "also, using DDNS" unchecked.
The routing page is empty
The hostnames page is empty
In MPTS the Etherlink III adapter is added to the current configuration
IBM TCP/IP and IBM OS/2 Netbios over TCP/IP protocols are installed
Not sure where to go from here.
