Hi
If I’m to play a DOS game through Windows, does that need the basic Soundblaster configured in there first? Such as SET BLASTER = A220 I5 D3 etc? And if so, does Windows need to be restarted before it works correctly?
Because whenever I reboot, it disappears again. Despite setting it to read-only. Everything else stays the same, or if I’ve deleted everything else, I’m left with a blank slate.
I have had SETYMF and UNISOUND configured and saved previously, so I’m not sure if those settings are overwriting and effecting it.
I’m trying to find out why music and SFX are no longer working in DOS games under Windows when they did previously. For instance, I can load up Doom, but there’s no music coming from the sound canvas, despite it being hooked up and switched on. Works perfectly fine in DOS. Or in some cases the SFX are working fine, but there’s just no output from the sound canvas.
EDIT: Okay, so SFX work fine, along with any other device for music, but it’s just the sound canvas that doesn’t. But only for DOS games directly under Windows. Would there be something else I’d need to configure for that or is that something that can’t be helped? I seem to recall Blood was fine. I even configured it after installing under Windows and the music played via the SC-55.
Thanks
