I have some games that I've confirmed to have the "will only play CD audio from the first CD drive" flaw (tested by using my XP-running Thinkpad T410's ability to Safely Remove the hot-swappable DVD drive as a quick-and-temporary way to bump Alcohol 120% to first spot) and, being the stubborn SOB that I am, I'd like to at least know how to apply the less sledgehammer-y fix that I'm used to applying under Windows 98 SE.
Under 98SE, that's just going into Multimedia > Control Panel > Devices > Media Control Devices > CD Audio Device [Media Control] > Properties > Settings and changing "Default CD-ROM device for playing CD music".
However, Under Windows XP, I get to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Hardware > Media Control Devices > Properties > Properties > MCICDA.DLL > Properties and the should-be-equivalent Settings button does nothing.
Does anyone know a registry key or .ini file I can manually edit to achieve this or was that functionality truly not ported to the NT lineage?
