is there any way to speed up/slow down VDMSound? in DOSBox you can use the cycles, but what does VDMSound have to offer in this regard?

When using VDMSound CPU is used at full speed. If you want to speed things down a bit, you may tinker with the CPU advanced options (CAP DOS frequency timer and such).

thanks for the replies, but what does the Cap DOS timer frequency option do exactly? Also, I would use DOSBox, but the screen tearing in the game is really bad when run through DOSBox...is there a way to enable vertical sync in DOSbox?

Enable doublebuffer option inside dosbox.conf

fulldouble=true (remember to run fullscreen -> ALT-ENTER)
