Hi all new member here,

When i go to my local rubbish tip i always swing past the electronic bins and this time i found a mint condition IBM Aptiva EQ1 it had a amd k6233 ,64mb ram , 3.2gb hdd and thats it all on board sound and video.
So i decided to do a few upgrades to voodoo 1 4mb with chip heatsinks , 256mb ram , amd k6300, 2mb S3 virge upgraded to 4mb ,sound blaster 16 Vibra , promise TX2 Ultra100 ,2 x 128gb ide to sd card adaptors so 256gb total ,430w thermaltake psu with atx to at adaptor, new cpu fan, dvd player , 90mm case fan at the front to blow air over all the cards and thats it! Everything running smooth on windows 98 (need to get new win98 case badge) no poblems at all and runs 96-98 games .

Wow that does look mint. Very nice find. My local tip doesn't allow you to take away things that other people dumped. Anyway. Have fun with your new toy!

I got my aptiva case back.

It's got a 'way too new' i5 board inside it, but I got the thing back, and have a VX pentium board I could slip inside.

I have one of these.
I has a AMD K6-300 or 333 I don't remember.
But the CPU is upgradable.
It will accept a Intel MMX Pentium 200 or 233 too
But for Best game compatibility I like the AMD
All you need to do is change the CPU and Motherboard jumpers.

I did change the k6233 to a k6300 which is the fastest this board can take and yep also had to move jumpers around, i did check the manual online not sure if it will take a k62 or not
