I would like build a fast AGP system with a Radeon HD3850.

I’ve been struggling to find an AGP board with Core2 Duo support but I have a few P4 socket 775 boards with AGP and VIA chipset.

Is it possible to add Core2 Duo code to the bios?

Has anyone done this?

I don't know about Via chipsets, specifically, but very few P4 motherboards are compatible with a Core 2 processor without physical modification. As I understand it, the two processors hava a couple of different pins electrically.

A few motherboards, like the P5PE-VM address the differences on the PCB.

After that issue, then you also need a BIOS the recognizes the CPU.

Finally, you have a front-side bus issue with Core 2s using either a 800 MHz or 1066 MHz FSB.
