HI! i made a simple mame frontend for DOS, inspired in old bootleg famicom/nes multicarts, my idea was something small and fast, using only text mode

Finally i decide to use 40x25 text mode, and made the sound similar to old multicarts using pcspeaker

The frontend can read a ini, when is possible to disable or enable sound, change colors, etc or whithout the ini just load default values, the executable is 5kb, and only need a list.txt file with list of games with full+short name separed with a # simbol, for example

2020 SUPER BASEBALL#2020BB

Ok here is the frontend, hope someone enjoy, im happy to have a frontend for mame, since in my opinions the one already exist for dos or are too bloated or dont work well

Thank you so much. That is really fabulous! Eliminates all the crap, bloat, images, art, etc and just provide a list of the games and opportunity to read in an ini file and start. Perfect.

Suggestion for next version: allow optional 80x25 mode for longer titles. Otherwise, it's perfect and needs nothing else to remain lean and 100% functional.

Will be very useful.

Hi, thanks, I hate most of frontends, are heavy, full of graphics, sound, and even if you turn off most of stuff, still are bloated and slow

I m not a fan of small letters for frontends, but here you have

If you test, please tellme any error, i add the 80x25 textmode in 10minutes without check much

Thanks. 80x25 mode works well for me. No errors yet found. If I find any in future, I'll let you know, but this is outstanding work.

Finally DOS MAME is turnkey - easy to just select a game and play.
