Yes, for all those reading this. I know that ADOM is a fairly new game (and it's homebrewed), but I thought i'd ask.

I can't run the game in windows xp, and dosbox doesn't like it either.
It's suppposed to install, but it doesn't, in either enviroment.

I was thinking on making a Dos boot disk and using that to play? It that too drastic of thinking.

My PC is a 2.6ghz with 1gb of ram and a 256mb gfx card. CD burner and regular CD driver. Built it about six months ago, so it's mostly new stuff.

Any adom players wanna comment? (others welcome too!)

Thanx,

Doesn't work in XP? That's crazy. Are you trying to run the DOS version or one of the Windows betas?

Do you get an error either in XP or in DOSBox?

Winbeta doesn't work in xp (general protection fault) and the dos version doesn't work right in dosbox, it runs fine up until game play. (after character creation, then gives some error and quits.(I'll try to rerun and get the specific error.)

sorry about the long wait, too many clients who need their machines fixed!

It's been a couple years since I've played ADOM... The error message would be useful.

For the Windows version, are you trying beta3, or beta4? Also, have you tried setting a compatability mode?

Update: Just tested ADOM 1.1.1 winbeta4 in WinXP SP2 and it works without problems.
Also tested ADOM 1.1.1 DOS in a recent DOSBox CVS build and it also worked without problems.

In both I was able to generate a character and walk around, then save the game.
