I bought it on GOG and installed SoFplus for widescreen resolution
Now, I'm in a struggle with the game not being opened whenever I click on it and getting this message saying it's not loading defsnd.dll:

LoadLibrary("defsnd.dll") failed

Yesterday, I had to reinstall the game after backed up my save files (the "user" folder) then it worked well.

Then suddenly, whenever I boot up my PC and opened the game, the same message appears - for whatever reason why this happen - I even figured it's just my Windows Defender trying to break down the DLL file and I had to disable it every time it's not permanently disabled whenever I load my laptop on, that's what often makes the game not being loaded on until I have to reinstall the game over and over because of my Windows antivirus I disable, then enables itself after I boot up my PC expect I don't need to reinstall Soldier of Fortune again, need to know what to do.

The DLL file on game's directory is still here and I'm not sure why it happens not being loaded up, it's just a shame until I need your help.

And my specs are Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, RTX 3050, Intel i7 Core 12th gen, 16 GB ram

it worked before defsnd.dll?

I'm not sure - but gog installs generally work great if left as is

googling 'site:gog.com sofplus' showed a bunch of things, maybe you can find something there

sorry no real help - i really enjoyed sof and hope you get it going!

maybe : https://www.gog.com/forum/soldier_of_fortune_ … will_not_launch actually references defsnd

Sadly, this didn't work for me, it's ruddy annoying since I don't want to do reinstalling the game and backing up the files every day. I'll guess I'll just wait for someone to fix this problem
