VDMSound has default settings of Address 220, IRQ 7, DMA 1 (8Bit), DMA 5 (16Bit) and is equivalent to a SoundBlaster 16.

Just like any other DOS title, you match these as closely as you can to what Discworld says it will support. If there are problems, start with the most basic SoundBlaster support.
